Now until June 5 MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum presents Terraformation, a group exhibition featuring artists Nipan Oranniwesna, Chris Chong Chan Fui, Jedsada Tangtrakulwong, and Disorn Duangdao. Curated by Kittima Chareeprasit, the exhibition will run until 5 June 2023, showcasing selected works from the collection of Asia Medical and Agricultural Laboratory and Research Center (AMARC), Bangkok, MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum, Chiang Mai, and a private collection from the artist - Mit Jai inn - in collaboration with the ART for AIR project. March 21 the Chiang Mai International Rotary Club (CMIRC) at the Royal Peninsula Hotel. The meeting will be a hybrid meeting both in person and on ZOOM. The meeting will start at 7:00 PM. Some choose to arrive early (around 5:30 PM to partake of an off the menu meal at the hotel restaurant). Visitors need to have proof of Covid-19 vaccination and are willing to have a temperature check prior to entering the meeting room. The program will be presented by Mike Mann from the Integrated Tribal Development Program (ITDP) (https://www.facebook.com/itdfinternational/). Mike will provide information about ITDP and ITDP’s role in the Water and Sanitation in Northern Thailand Rotary Global Grant where CMIRC is the host club and the Rotary Club of Fig Garden is the international partner club. Dewi Natalia, the Indonesian behind ForAsiaCheers, has spent the past decade shooting street photography in 19 countries all over Asia. From 2016-2020, she took several trips to Shan State, and eventually settled there in 2019, working alongside Byron Hartzler and Myanmar Adventure Outfitters, a social enterprise adventure company based out of Lashio in northern Shan State. 70% of the profits from prints and books will go into projects to support people inside Shan State, through the work of MAO, who continue their social impact work with economic empowerment, education sponsorships, and water filtration projects among rural and isolated communities in Shan State.
